Spicy Honey Grilled Shrimp—this Spicy Honey Grilled Shrimp is one of the best shrimp recipes you will ever try! Made with garlic, ginger, honey and sriracha, it takes only 15 minutes to make. It can be served with noodles or a salad.
I have a severe allergy towards crustaceans but it was not until I turned 30 that I developed that.
It is unfortunate that for the past 15 years I have not been able to enjoy any seafood dishes aside from salmon and some white fish.
I remember the last time I enjoyed a platter of grilled lobster and shrimps was while on holiday in Langkawi Island in Malaysia
Langkawi is truly fascinating and has some of the most amazing scenery one can imagine. You can’t but love its lush and savage nature, beautiful beaches and lovely people.
I was blessed and lucky to visit it five times so far.
This dish is a reminiscence of my trips to Langkawi Island and the amazing people, culture and beauty that I experienced there.
What Shrimp to Use?
For this recipe you can use your preferred choice of shrimp. They can be peeled or shell–on as long as they are de-veined with the tails on.
If you are using an outdoor grill, large shrimp are better, to avoid threading them on skewers.
However, if you are using a stove top grill or a skillet, choose any size shrimp you wish without the need to thread. Keep in mind you can bake them in the oven if you are not in the mood to grill.
Ingredients Needed:
To make this easy Spicy Honey Grilled Shrimp recipe you need shrimp, minced garlic, grated ginger, garlic powder, soy sauce, sriracha and honey.
How To Make Spicy Honey Grilled Shrimp
Rinse the shrimp and then pat dry them with paper towel. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and set aside.
In a large bowl, prepare the marinade by mixing the minced garlic, ginger, garlic powder, soy sauce, sriracha and honey. Add the shrimp to the bowl and coat well. Let marinate for 5 minutes.
Throw the shrimps over an oiled grill for 3–4 minutes on each side until they are fully cooked.
Transfer to a serving platter and serve with the dipping sauce of your choice.

Sounds amazing and how wonderful it brought back happy memories of travels! I’m so sorry you have an allergic reaction to shellfish. It is not uncommon to get them at any age. I hope you it might subside (and carry that Epipen!) so you can enjoy this dish and many others.
