Maple Garlic Baked Salmon—foil baked salmon in maple, garlic and chili sauce. The salmon is moist and flaky and the recipe takes 25 minutes from start to finish.
Salmon is a popular dish in my household, and I make sure to prepare it at least once a week. Aside from its countless health benefits, salmon is really easy to work with and so versatile that you can pan sear it, bake it, grill it or even have it raw in sushi.
I like the cooked versions of salmon compared to the raw, but it is an absolute matter of choice and preference.
This salmon recipe is pretty straight forward. It is simple and so easy to make, and there is hardly any preparation needed. Then, the salmon is baked in foil in the oven, which means mess free cooking!
I like baking salmon in foil because it retains the flavors and juices. Moreover, it preserves the marinade so that the salmon does not dry. In addition, I find the combination of maple syrup with chili, garlic and soy sauce makes the salmon moist and juicy and the flavors come together really nice.
Ingredients for Maple Garlic Baked Salmon
This recipe calls for a skinless, boneless fillet of salmon.
There are many salmon brands in the market, yet I like to go with fresh and wild caught salmon when possible rather than with farm raised.
For the maple garlic marinade, you will need maple syrup, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil and chili flakes.
how to bake salmon in foil
Pat dry the salmon with kitchen paper towel and place over aluminum foil. Season with salt and pepper. Mix all the marinade ingredients together and pour over the salmon to cover the surface evenly.
Fold and wrap the foil tightly and bake in the oven for about 15–20 minutes, depending on the thickness of your salmon.
Unwrap the salmon, garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
